چکیده

In this study, biochemical activities of some phosphazenes were determined in Saccharomyces cerevisiae L. culture medium. Different phosphazene molecules used experimental practice. The groups within the scope study organized as control group, H2O2 (Hydrogen peroxide) and phosphazen molecules. After prepared, 30 µg 100 µl added to other cultures, except for group S. culture. Incubated 72 hours oven at °C. At end incubation, cell pellets separated. Total protein levels from Glutathione S-Transferase (GST) homogenizat. fatty acid lipophilic analyzed homogenate obtained with hexane / isopropanol alcohol mixture. According our results, while total values GST increased parallel molecule yeast cells, decreased groups, although an increase amount was observed. Ergosterol, which has important place membrane structure cerevisiae, found be higher T3 T3B coded compared low T4 groups. Our results revealed that a result addition medium ergosterol synthesis, acids cause increases or decreases products enzymes double-enter hydrocarbon chain.

Cadmium-induced oxidative stress in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.

The present study was undertaken to determine the effect of cadmium (Cd) on the antioxidant status of the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae. S. cerevisiae serves as a good eukaryotic model system for the study of the molecular mechanisms of oxidative stress. We investigated the adaptative response of S. cerevisiae exposed to Cd. Yeast cells could tolerate up to 100 microM Cd and an inhibition in t...

Oxidative stress responses of the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae.

All aerobically growing organisms suffer exposure to oxidative stress, caused by partially reduced forms of molecular oxygen, known as reactive oxygen species (ROS). These are highly reactive and capable of damaging cellular constituents such as DNA, lipids and proteins. Consequently, cells from many different organisms have evolved mechanisms to protect their components against ROS. This revie...

Brazilian propolis protects Saccharomyces cerevisiae cells against oxidative stress

Propolis is a natural product widely used for humans. Due to its complex composition, a number of applications (antimicrobial, antiinflammatory, anesthetic, cytostatic and antioxidant) have been attributed to this substance. Using Saccharomyces cerevisiae as a eukaryotic model we investigated the mechanisms underlying the antioxidant effect of propolis from Guarapari against oxidative stress. S...

Bcl-2 family members inhibit oxidative stress-induced programmed cell death in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.

Selected antiapoptotic genes were expressed in baker's yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) to evaluate cytoprotective effects during oxidative stress. When exposed to treatments resulting in the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS), including H(2)O(2), menadione, or heat shock, wild-type yeast died and exhibited apoptotic-like characteristics, consistent with previous studies. Yeast strains...
